Maggie the rescue filly got her first worming today. It was amazing to remember when she first came about a month ago, you couldn’t even get close to her. What a transformation! Today she Continue reading
Good Morning,
First, I’d like to post a quick note to everyone that the Special Sales and Select Sales pages have been updated to include the photos we’ve previously had on file for the various horses for sale.
Second, as more updates get made, I’ll be announcing them as I can.
Third… greetings… I may be learning to speak horse, but my web-whisperer skills appear to be coming into being! Watch out for great things on the horizon!
Best,
Mark aka….

I spent waaaaay too much time tonight over at VistaPrint having more fun than should be legal late night online. No it’s not a gambling site, nor an online dating connection but a graphic design service. Ok, so I have a geek streak a mile wide. I admit it!
We all hear about how vital Continue reading

The farm family grew again. Ginny found her perfect horse: a rescued coming two-year old Belgian cross filly. The filly came to be known as Magdalene. She arrived loose in the horse trailer–she was unapproachable, virtually feral. They could not get near her to halter her so they bribed her into the trailer with sweetfeed.
As Maggie adjusted to a whole new way of living, Grace stepped into a new career–Maggie’s mentor.
We humans began the journey of natural horsemanship: entering Maggie’s world and inviting her into ours. Gracie took her into the farm world and began showing her the ropes.
…We think it only fitting that Magdalene live with Grace 😉
A fairly mild and VERY fulfilling January thunders towards its end. Please forgive the mess on this site: this was a month of new partnerships and new projects. This new, expanding version 2.0 of our AHHS website reflects the apparent chaos that growth and change may bring!
Ginny and Nick found instant partnerships with new horses Maggie and George. Lady and Squirt found new homes and new job descriptions that suit them to a “T”. Jessie sent Volly here for “boarding school” while she returned to her beloved New Zealand for 6 months. And Mark and I found new identity as a married couple. Congratulations all!
Over the next few weeks look for website additions and lengthening days. Any ideas how we can make our website better serve YOU? We can’t do anything about the weather but we can improve our online equestrian experience!
Safety, mobility, dryness and warmth are the goals of any equine professional, whether training a horse, teaching a riding lesson, or simply running the farm. Let’s start from the bottom up: your feet. This is the “sole” of the matter! Continue reading
