Partway there… And a bit closer

Update 5/15a: Content mashing looks good, but there’s some circular links. Sorry about that, will fix in the next few days!!

Update: 5/15 I have uploaded the content from joustingwarhorse.com as a test and will be further integrating our other equine-related sites into this one, assuming it all works out.

For those who have seen on facebook, we’ve had some hardware challenges on our website server, and yours truly is in the process of rebuilding it more or less from content backups. Many of the tabs don’t work yet because I don’t have their configurations uploaded yet… but I’m getting there :=)

Thanks in advance for your patience.

Mark

From Samantha Stilley in Harpers Ferry, WV

Hi Kirsten it’s Sam Stilley from yesterday.

I just wanted to thank you so much for your help with Leo. I worked with him again today and he was phenomenal! It took him less then ten minutes to load into the open trailer, then less than five more minutes after that to load into it with the one side closed. He even self loaded for me twice! By the end of our hour long session he had loaded multiple times and the last time he walked right in like a champ with no hesitations and no pauses what so ever! I think within a few more practices he will be loading this way every time and will self-load in no time as well! He is so calm and comfortable in the trailer as well which is something I never thought would come this soon. I was able to load him, give him some treats and love, and then walk away from him to shut him in and close the rear bar all on my own! He never even got uncomfortable or tried to back out when I left his side to walk around and shut him in. I feel like your training method really clicked with him, and for me too! Now I can be excited about taking him places and not worry about how I’m going to get him there and home safely. Thanks again so much and I’ll keep you updated on his progress.

Sam

2nd Update & progress report!!!:

Hi again! Just thought you might like to know that I practiced with Leo for about 15mins today and he probably loaded over 8 times in that time span! He is really doing better and better every day and is almost pulling me to the trailer when he sees the ramp is down. Thanks again so much!

Sam

Hi Mom!

I’ve battled with gmail the past few days trying to send pictures of Noche to his owner, to no avail. So, he gets his own blog post!

Noche is happy as a clam with his buddy Caber, muddy from a recent roll.  They particularly love to race up the long hill.  I was hoping to get a picture of them thundering up for feeding but they were already waiting for me- I think they know when we break out the camera!

New Pictures of Coltie, Gypsy Sporthorse

I can’t believe how fast Coltie is growing up!  Mark and I still have yet to agree on a “real name” 🙂 He just keeps getting nicer and nicer, and still has the same phenomenal, teddy-bear temperament.  He sure has his daddy’s Gypsy Cob conformation!  His wild Gypsy mane is on the OTHER side!

Coltie was born on April Fools Day in 2008.

There she goes again… Congratulations, Kirsten!

So after a long and busy summer, Kirsten jumped back into the arena Friday on Gideon’s back and cleaned up, receiving Grand Champion for her efforts… Not be outdone, she then did so again with on Sunday, and got her second Grand Champion!

Not only is her skill and talent at guiding horses amazing to watch, but Gideon’s consistent form and impressive good looks are always a joy to watch!

So, congratulations Kirsten and Gideon, back-to-back Grand Champions, teaming up again to raise (and clear!) the bar on horsemanship!!!

Congratulations, Kirsten! Stable Management Interview

Congratulations on your interview being published as part of the cover article  in June 2010’s Stable Management about keeping lesson programs fresh and exciting! Excellent read from start to finish, lots of good advice from trainers all over; and Kirsten closing out the article with “Just having permission to dream big is all people need sometimes” very well said!

I always knew you were front page material 🙂 Now, so do a lot of other people…

Congratulations!!!!
