Most of us do not have access to warm water in our barns or fields. One way to supply warm water is to carry it in jugs from the house. To save time and trips, and lighten your load, we recommend filling your container with the hottest water your tap can provide (use an appropriate container!) Once you get to the barn, you can mix cold water with your hot water in a separate container a little at a time until it reaches your desired temperature.
This has the added benefit of making your supply last longer. Once the water you have diluted with cold has cooled, you still have more hot water for another round. This is great for soaking horses’ hooves on really cold days!
